Shortsville, NY – The body of an elderly Ontario County woman was found this afternoon in a snow bank, about one thousand feet from an adult facility she walked away from earlier this week. Hundreds of people were involved in the search for 82-year old Helen Lois Goodwin of Shortsville.
Goodwin walked away from the privately run home for adults where she had lived since 1998. She had a history of depression, and frequently went for walks but usually told the house's owners when she was going out. There was no mention this time and she left her purse behind.
Foul play is not suspected, but an autopsy will be performed. And the Ontario County Sheriff's Department is continuing with its investigation.
