“This nation was founded with a vision for freedom, a vision that has required repeated challenges in order to move toward true liberty for all the people of this land.” Those are the words of the Most Reverend Michael Curry. The 27th Presiding Bishop and Primate of the Episcopal Church was in Rochester in early November to talk racial justice and reconciliation. The purpose for his visit and his message comes at a time when many say our country appears more divided on racial, gender and socio-economic lines than they realized.

Need to Know’s Hélène Biandudi Hofer sat down with the first African American bishop of one of the oldest Christian denominations in America to talk social challenges for the church and our community. He also shared his strategy for better days ahead.
