Here are the results from several area races for state Assembly.
133rd District
Voters elected a new representative to this seat, which had been held by Joe Errigo, the Republican who is facing bribery and wire fraud charges after he allegedly accepted bribes to move a development project forward in the Rochester area.
The new Assembly member is Marjorie Byrnes, who defeated Errigo in September’s Republican primary and Democratic candidate Barbara Baer in Tuesday’s race.
Byrnes is a former Rochester City Court judge and is currently a trustee on the Caledonia Village Board.
This was the second time that Baer, a lawyer and former social worker, had sought the seat. She had mounted a campaign in 2016 against Bill Nojay, who died by suicide just weeks before the election, but she ultimately was defeated by Errigo.
The district includes Pittsford, Wheatland, Rush and Mendon in Monroe County, all of Livingston County and part of Steuben County.
