Sheriff-elect Todd Baxter makes some leadership appointments

Monroe County Sheriff-Elect Todd Baxter has announced some executive appointments.

Baxter, who takes office in January, has named Rochester Police Captain Korey Brown as his new Undersheriff.

Brown is a 21 year veteran of the RPD, whose background includes serving as Chief of Staff for the Police Chief and serving as Commanding Officer of the Professional Development Section.

He replaces Drew Forsythe,  who has been undersheriff since 2015.

Baxter also announced that Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Commander Michael Fowler will be promoted to the rank of Chief Deputy, and local TV journalist Amy Young was selected to be Communications Officer.

Baxter, who defeated longtime incumbent Sheriff Patrick O’Flynn in November, takes office next month.
