Missing elderly Fairport man found; he is OK

Fairport Police have found an elderly man who was missing since late Wednesday afternoon, and they say he is doing OK.

Officers had put the word out Wednesday night that 86-year-old Norman Reak had left his home on Mile Circle to go to the grocery store and didn’t return. He was last seen at the Tops in Penfield.

On Thursday morning, at about 9 a.m., Reak was spotted by a liquor store owner at the CityGate plaza, who saw Reak sitting in his car. The battery had died and he was out of gas.

The store owner brought Reak inside to warm up, and the Fairport man was taken to the hospital to be evaluated, but police say he appears to be OK.
