Monroe County Deputies say a Henrietta man is accused of killing his father at a house in that town on Parkerhouse Road on Friday.
Deputies were called to the home near Bailey Road at about 5:30pm and found 48 year old Dezerick Brooks of Rochester dead. His son, 21 year old Fabian Vazquez is accused of shooting Brooks in the chest with a rifle.
When deputies got to the house, they say that several family members were there and they were detained for questioning.
During the course of the investigation, deputies interviewed the family with the help of the sheriff’s department victim advocate and representatives of the Bivona Child Advocacy Center. Deputies say there have been previous calls for domestic issues at that home and they will continue to investigate the history of those calls.
Vazquez has been charged with second degree murder and ordered held pending another court appearance.
Deputies say they are confident this is an isolated incident and that there is no danger to the community.
