Former GM fuel cell plant in Honeoye Falls to house new businesses

There is word that the village of Honeoye Falls will be getting back some of the positive economic impact it lost when General Motors closed its fuel cell plant 6 years ago.

Village Mayor Rick Milne tells WXXI News that the property on Carriage Street has been sold, and officials are looking forward to making a formal announcement when the final details are completed.

The former research and development facility employed more than 200 people before that work was moved to another GM plant in Michigan.

Milne told the Democrat and Chroniclethat two new businesses will move about 100 jobs to the Honeoye Falls area with the potential for growth.
