There is a statewide crack down on drinking and driving to coincide with celebrations related to St. Patrick's Day.
State Police will have increased enforcement beginning Friday and running through Monday. There will be additional DWI patrols and sobriety checkpoints, and increased inspections related to underage drinking.
Troopers will also be on the lookout for distracted drivers who are illegally using electronic devices. A number of local police departments across the state will also be participating in the effort.
