Although many of the weather advisories have been canceled, or will expire by Sunday, the forecast still calls for some unsettled weather in the coming week.
On Saturday lake effect snow pummeled some areas southwest of Rochester, with parts of Wyoming County picking up several inches of accumulation.
It was windy all over the region on Saturday with gusts topping 40 miles per hour in many places. There were reports of power lines and tree branches down in some spots, and parts of Eastview Mall closed early on Saturday evening due to power outages.
Rochester Police say some traffic lights and electrical lines came down near Lake Avenue and Ridge Road on Saturday, possibly due to the wind. Traffic was affected for a while, but no one was injured.
There is still a winter weather advisory for Wayne County until 10am on Sunday with a few more inches of snow possible.
Sunday’s forecast calls for increasing clouds on Veterans Day, with a high near 40. Monday it will be cloudy with a high in the mid 40s, and there is a chance of rain changing to snow for Tuesday and Wednesday.
