Carestream Health has new leadership. On Thursday, the company named David Westgate as the new Chairman, President and CEO.

Westgate previously served as CEO of Jason Industries, an industrial manufacturing corporation.

In a statement, Westgate said that Carestream’s focus, “…will be on delivering innovation that is life-changing, for patients, customers, employees, communities and other stakeholders…”

Robert Le Blanc, a Senior Managing Director of the Canadian company Onex Corporation, which owns Carestream, said that Westgate will work to move the company toward long-term growth and market leadership.

Westgate replaces Kevin Hobert, the CEO who was there at the start of Carestream 11 years ago, who has decided to leave now, and will help with the transition. Le Blanc said that Hobert, “has done an excellent job leading Carestream’s development into a worldwide leader in the medical and dental imaging fields.”

Carestream was formed in 2007, when Onex purchased the healthcare division of Eastman Kodak.

Carestream now employs more than 6,000 people worldwide, with about 1,250 based in Rochester where the company is headquartered.
