Rochester Police say they are investigating a police-involved shooting on the northeast side on Sunday night.
There aren’t too many details yet, but authorities say it happened just after 10:00 p.m. in the 300 block of Wilkins Street.
Officials say the preliminary investigation shows that officers encountered a group of people in that area, and during the encounter, an altercation occurred resulting in a person being shot.
That person was taken to Strong Hospital and is currently being treated for a non-life threatening injury.
Authorities say a gun was recovered at the scene, and the officer involved was not injured.
Wilkins Street has been closed between Hudson Ave. and Thomas St. for the investigation. More details are expected later in the day.
